Note: Author Katie Bass is a second-grade classroom teacher, who also serves as PES’s Responsive Classroom Lead Teacher. She taught grade four for her first four years at PES. In looking back at my five years here at Pittsfield Elementary, I can easily say that I have come a long way in my communication with parents….

On Monday June 6, the Kindergarteners with the help of some six graders Team plant flowers outside of the Kindergarten area at the elementary school as work on Phase 1 continues. Find out about Project HOME!

The annual Back to School Open House is Monday, August 28. The PES staff will host a BBQ for families starting at 5:30 p.m. At 6:00 p.m. families will have an opportunity to meet their child’s classroom teacher and discuss hopes and dreams for the 2017-2018 school year!

The PES Parent Teacher Organization elected new officers at its May 10 meeting. Amy Ramsey will serve as president, Becky Frost as Vice President, Erin Butler as treasurer, and retiring President Tina Nevins will serve as Secretary. We thank Ms. Nevins for her two years of service as PTO president.
