On Monday through Thursday evenings, students are assigned homework to reinforce concepts taught during the school day. These assignments should be completed as activities would in a school setting: in a quiet environment with adequate lighting and without distractions.
On Fridays, students are asked to read for fifteen minutes over the course of the weekend. Occasionally, other homework may be assigned over the weekend as well.
Typical daily assignments include:
- a math sheet reviewing the day’s lesson
- an activity to reinforce the week’s words
- fifteen minutes of reading recorded on a homework log
-
Occasionally additional homework involving studying or practicing specific reading, writing, or science skills will be sent home.
If assignments are taking longer than a half hour for your child to complete on a regular basis, please contact me so that we may discuss maximizing your child’s educational experience both in the home and school.
