About the Teacher

This is Mrs. Bass’s fifth year teaching at Pittsfield. For the past four years, she has taught fourth grade, and she is very excited for a new adventure teaching second grade! She loves living here in New Hampshire, but is originally from upstate New York. She attended Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, where she received her B.S. degree in Education Studies and German. She has taught in a variety of capacities ranging from infants to eighth grade. Among those teaching experiences, Mrs. Bass taught at a trilingual Grundschule (elementary school) in southwestern Germany as well as teaching second grade in the small country of Antigua, located in the Caribbean.

Aside from teaching, Mrs. Bass is busy at Pittsfield Elementary! She works closely with Responsive Classroom as a Teacher Leader and currently serves as a mentor. She also chaired the Recycling Committee, worked with the NHEET Science Team, and participated in the E2T2 Technology Cohort.

When she’s home in Gilmanton Iron Works, Mrs. Bass loves spending time with her family, which includes a loving dog Connelly, feisty cat Bailey, and loyal duck Mack. She loves to go hiking in all seasons, and also enjoys playing and teaching Ultimate Frisbee all around the state and region.
