Editors Note: This year The Pittsfield Schools have used federal stimulus money through the American Recovery and Revitalization Act to hire two one-year specialists who are charged with training teachers and supporting students who need extra help. As part of an Earth Day whole-school meeting on April 22, PES students witnessed and participated in the planning of a birch tree, donated to the school by Mr. Jeff Edmond of Millican Nursery in Chichester.  Mr. Edmond and school board member, Mike Wolfe, were on hand to help students with the planting.
