Everyone showed a great deal of care in researching,planning, hypothesizing, experimenting, and reporting on their outrageous machines! Some featured elements include:<\/p>\n<p>A lift launch of the marble raised by a string attached to a lever<\/p>\n<p>A marble <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">catapulted<\/span> into a funnel aimed with accuracy and precision by clay of a particular mass, dropped from exactly 17 inches<\/p>\n<p>A ramp supported by a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">trio of tripod<\/span>s with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">stable base<\/span>s and a reasonably secure <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">center of gravity<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">potential energy<\/span> of a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">powerful spring launch<\/span> which was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">super kinetic!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A marble whose exact roll around curves was managed by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">counterweights<\/span> and stopped by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">magnetic attraction<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A precise and powerful ball bearing shot which rang a bell whose <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">sound energy<\/span> would normally be \u00a0muffled by carpet<\/p>\n<p>A marble launched on a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">buoyant <\/span>aluminum boat powered by the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">wind energy<\/span> from a fan<\/p>\n<p>A \u00a0marble <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">buoyed<\/span> downstream on a waterfall, which rattled an aluminum tunnel which rang the bell twice<\/p>\n<p>A marble which rang a bell and was stopped in its track by its <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">mass<\/span> piercing the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">surface tension<\/span> of a pool of water and sinking<\/p>\n<p>A marble whose direction was beautifully controlled by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">guide rails<\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">friction<\/span>, which rang a hand made plastic bell<\/p>\n<p>A perfect strike which knocked bowling pins off of their center, and rang the bell<\/p>\n<p>And SO ON!!!!! <span style=\"font-family: mceinline;\">Great job everyone!!!!!!!!!!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1082  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sau51.org\/pes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/butterflyblue-full2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"237\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[17],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1083","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-teacher-page"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/sau51.org\/pes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1083","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/sau51.org\/pes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/sau51.org\/pes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sau51.org\/pes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sau51.org\/pes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1083"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/sau51.org\/pes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1083\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/sau51.org\/pes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1083"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sau51.org\/pes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1083"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sau51.org\/pes\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1083"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
